★★★☆☆

Rachel Getting Married is a weird yet decent movie. I liked much of it. One liners were good. Rachel Getting Married almost worked in a dysfunctional kind of way. Definitely worth  watching a time or two. I cannot say anything about what I didn’t like without giving away too much of the plot.

Kym (Anne Hathaway), fresh out of rehab and a stint in a mental hospital, returns home for her sister’s wedding. Then she finds out she is not the Maid of Honor, because, well, nobody expected her to get out of the mental hospital.

It is a highly dysfunctional family trying to find a path to normal and that path seems just out of reach. There are moments of great humor followed by moments of deep tragic emotion. We see the deep hurt and emotion but have no idea why until we get about half way through the movie.

Still, Rachel Getting Married has some great zingers which are well worth a viewing.
