Review – Sicario

★★☆☆☆ I hate to admit it, but I was really disappointed with Sicario. It had all of the right things behind it and it failed. I rented this movie because it had Emily Blunt and what ordinary guy doesn’t like a story about the FBI hunting down a drug lord?…

Review – Stolen (2012)

★★★☆☆ Nicolas Cage action movies tend to not disappoint me. I will admit some of his more experimental stuff can be massive dis-interesting flops, but he tends to know how to do action well. Having said that, I understand that once north of 50 as he is now means action…

Review – Prisoners (2013)

★★☆☆☆ You might want to avoid having a few glasses of wine before watching Prisoners. Perhaps someone who is a parent could get into it more. I did eventually get into it, but, Prisoners doesn’t completely succeed when it comes to exploring just how far parents will go to locate…

Review – Styx (2001)

★★★☆☆ I have seen Styx a few times since it came out. Peter Weller generally gives a good performance and tends to choose roles he can do well in. Since the Millenials won’t have any idea who he is I will tell them he played Admiral Marcus in Star Trek…

Review – Rachel Getting Married

★★★☆☆ Rachel Getting Married is a weird yet decent movie. I liked much of it. One liners were good. Rachel Getting Married almost worked in a dysfunctional kind of way. Definitely worth  watching a time or two. I cannot say anything about what I didn’t like without giving away too…

Review – The Purge and The Purge Anarchy

★★★☆☆ The Purge and The Purge Anarchy are for when you feel like a video game, but don’t feel like actually playing the game yourself. The Purge even had some worthy writing, not so much in the lines, but the concept. A family man views himself as a good guy.…

Review – The Fate of the Furious

★★★★☆ I have seen quite a few reviews pan this installment of the series. While there is some call for panning, there is not as much as I have seen. After all, it’s only the installments without Vin Diesel that suck. Bringing Jason Statham’s character onto the team after he…
