Will M. Night Shyamalan ever again direct a movie which doesn’t suck? I mean come on! Glass had James McAvoy, Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, Sarah Paulson? All a director really has to do is get out of their way. These are seasoned pros. They know what does and does not work. Despite great acting, this movie sucks. Sarah Paulson delivers a stellar performance in this film. James McAvoy is stunning.

How could they not fix the (&)(*&)ing script?

You don’t have comic book movies go to a comic book store! If only that were the only problem you might be able to forgive Glass, but it’s not. Maybe, if I saw Split first I might have been able to give this film one star, but I heard some really bad things about Split too.

 How does one go from directing The Sixth Sense to putting out failure after failure and still keep getting funded?

Don’t even bother waiting for cable. Marvel’s comic book movie success has dragged every other studio down the comic book movie gold rush trail and it’s basically been mined out.

Bright spots on the horizon

At least we can hold out hope for the music biopic fad. The Queen/Freddie Mercury biopic was fantastic. I haven’t yet seen the Elton John one but have high hopes, especially if he was involved in creating it. The Springsteen one has the potential to be good but he was never as outlandish as Queen or Elton John, so I only have hope there. Both Queen and Elton John were outlandish enough you don’t have to know anything about them to be wowed by the movies. It’s hard for writers to actually make that shit up.

While they aren’t gold rush trends, I also hold out hope for Angel Has Fallen and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. All either of those movies have to do is be loyal to the fan base with the same level of acting and special effects. They will both ring the cash register.

Even though Midway has been done many times or at least I’ve seen many movies like and about it, I’m looking forward to the new one. Just be loyal to the time and the men who died there. I will actually visit the theater and spend money to see it.
