★★☆☆☆
Tart sounded far better than it was. The description makes Tart sound like “Skulls” (any of them) without the nefarious clandestine aspect. I actually could have gotten into that. The first part is a bit slow. You really have little idea of where it is going until it finally gets there. Not a disappointment, but not something to put high on your rental queue.
Some of the marketing for Tart billed it as “Sex, Drugs and Study Hall” which made it sound like a throwback to the days of Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Even something like that would have been a cool thing. Alas, this is yet another New York rich kids and fake rich kids at a private school story. If you don’t live in that world this movie can be a bit difficult to relate to. It wasn’t a horrible movie, but it needed more honest marketing.
In truth, had it been marketed more honestly it might have gotten a higher star rating from me.
