Parents are the (*&)_(*&ing worst!
I paid for this trip and I’m going. You will just have to endure my screaming, squalling non-vaccinated bundle of deadly infectious diseases for the entire trip.
Yeah, parents are the (&)(*&ing worst.
Where the Hell is our Federal government when it comes to international travel? How is it people are allowed into this country without any vaccinations?
You want to exercise personal choice when it comes to vaccines, fine.
- You don’t come to America.
- You don’t get to board a flight where everybody breathes the same air.
- You don’t get to board a ship, bus, train or any form of either public or private mass transit.
- You can’t even rent a vehicle which will be rented to someone else.
You can have your personal choice, but it comes at a price. You want to be a petri dish for the next deadly super bug to grow in, fine. Enjoy your isolation.
What brings on today’s rant you ask. Just saw this article about measles in New Jersey.
Given all of the stories on the news about migrant children dying in immigration custody I have yet to see one article stating immigration is vaccinating these people. If they aren’t performing medical exams I hold out little hope they are passing out vaccines. If the migrants really are poor and fleeing destitute conditions for a “better life” immigration should be vaccinating all of them. We have pharmaceutical companies which make vaccines in mass quantities.
The first chunk of the immigration budget should be allocated for full medical exams and a standard set of vaccinations. You don’t get through without them. It might even be time to start talking about Ebola vaccines for everyone. Just because you don’t plan on visiting a country where Ebola is doesn’t mean you won’t be grabbing the same door knob or railing where the person before you sneezed into their hand then grabbed it. Think about the Zika virus and babies with small heads. It won’t be long before we will have to have a conversation about a Zika vaccine being part of our standard set of vaccinations.
Measles can be deadly for adults. Some reports say a vaccination is only good for 20 years. That means our school vaccination battery ran out long before we hit 40 and most of us probably weren’t informed about getting a booster vaccination if we weren’t around kids.
On the plus side, we now all have good reason not to go to New Jersey.
