Despots in Russia appear to be engaging in one last fling before they are wiped from history. This has been coming for a very long while. Putin and the Oligarchs have been clinging to power via threats, assassinations, radiation poisoning, and declaring all opposition parties terrorists for the past decade. It’s the end of their rule and they know it. The massive protests over Alexei Navalny basically is the writing on the wall. Countries with great big militaries and advanced weapons have already informed the Kremlin that there will be Hell to pay if anything happens to him in prison.
Hopefully you can either expand that map to show the entire thing or the link will take you to nationsonline.org where you can see the whole thing. If you’ve been paying attention to Global Warming you know the Arctic Circle isn’t the defensive barrier it used to be. In fact, a lot of it kind of looks like this now.
Russia has been engaging in cyber crimes and cyber espionage for years. We’ve even blogged about it before. Honestly, they funded Donald Trumps social media network (follow the money trail far enough and it will go back to an Oligarch with KG-used-to-Be ties just like his real estate deals) so the KG-used-to-Be would have one social media network they could never be kicked off of. I get that. People with an IQ higher than 40 wouldn’t go there anyway so you only have to worry about the dumb nutters.
Alzheimer’s
I have to laugh when the media makes a big thing out of Biden saying he will not put boots on the ground in Ukraine. Of course not! There’s so much other border. Thanks to Global Warming that Arctic Circle is pretty inviting too.
It’s obvious that Putin and his cronies have Alzheimer’s. Even the hard drinking Russian leaders wouldn’t pull this stunt. This is the last desperate act of a failing regime. Historically the only thing that has stopped Russia from being conquered has been the Russian winter. Read your world history. Even when you go all the way back Hannibal crossing with Elephants. Others had to “redefine success.” (One definition was “cannibalism wasn’t too widespread.”) Only the heir to the throne in the Kingdom of Idiots would try to start a war when spring is about to hit Russia.
The Longest Border
Honestly, I hope the fool masses over half his forces across the border from Ukraine. No, I don’t wish hardship on Ukraine. “Welcome to NATO! You’ve earned it!” is my greeting to them. If he parks it there, that leaves an awful lot of border not being defended. Personally, with everyone looking at Ukraine I have to wonder just how many NATO forces have quietly built up in Mongolia. When you look at the full map there isn’t much between Mongolia and the Arctic Circle. A well timed counter strike could basically take that entire part of Russia. With spring coming they would even have time to build fortifications and establish protected supply lines. I mean, they could control it all the way to the ocean.
The Fifth Column
Let us not forget the internal border. Lots of Russians want Putin and his cronies gone. They basically want to make money on the Internet, get drunk, and surf for free porn like everyone else. They are sick and tired of these 17th century ideals of Russia. All of these massive protests that had to be forcibly put down during the joke of an election in Russia are still smoldering. With all of the troops off fighting, there won’t be enough police or security to stop them from just taking over the government. I mean they can’t try it on day one, but once the reserves have been dispatched . . .
Russian ICBMs
Russia, China, and the U.S. have stated publicly and quite recently that nobody can win a nuclear war. This is true. Russia doesn’t even clean up behind their abandoned missile programs. Hopefully you click that link because someone took a lot of time to take all of those pictures. If you look at the map again though and just picture a straight up line from some point along the Mongolian boarder to the Arctic Circle. Everything from that to the Bering Sea and Sea of Okhotsk controlled by U.S. & NATO forces. A big chunk around Khabarovsk controlled by the U.S. and a nice big military base built there with lots of missiles and aircraft.
You see, as a geek your mind wanders. You know MBAs are the scourge of the Earth, always looking to “cut costs” and take shortcuts for a fast buck. This leads one to ask the questions:
- How many Russian nuclear missiles (ICBM or just enough range to reach Moscow) would now be under the possession of NATO allies?
- Did Russia cut corners with its “early warning system?” Does it only look for missiles coming from other countries and ignores anything that might be internally fired?
- Have you re-read the Alzheimer’s section of this yet?
