Been a lot of chatter about Trump’s health lately and for good reason. That back of hand bruising is due to a bum ticker. I went through this with my mom. She died from heart disease which may or may not have been brought on by her also being a brittle diabetic. Insulin taking diabetics, especially those who start with insulin, are at high risk of becoming brittle diabetics.
For those who’ve never heard of that, keep in mind I’m not a doctor, just the son of a parent who became diabetic in the 1970s when all they had was insulin. Mom passed away a few years ago, so I have decades of living with this as well as caregiving. A brittle diabetic is one that can have very high glucose one minute then crash to 40 the next. Basically your pancreas makes insulin in fits and starts. There is no way to know when it will start pumping a bunch out.
Yes, high blood glucose levels have all manner of documented badness. The difference is, high glucose (assuming you aren’t testing 400) takes time to hurt you. A crash near 40 can kill you. Not only does it do a lot of damage to heart, vision, kidneys and other vital organs, it makes you non-functional. If you are climbing stairs, on a ladder, or behind the wheel, you can die right then.

What he said is true in general. Hands like that are also what you see when someone first starts a heavy hitting blood thinner. Takes a while for your body to “get used to it.”
Mom used to carry those cheap brown cloth gloves women get for gardening. When she was on the heavy blood thinners the slightest bump would not only cause a bruise, but also bleeding. I took her car to town to fill up one day and the inside of the driver’s door was covered in dried blood. She had banged the back of her hand on the door handle when trying to open it and bled like a stuck hog. If a cop had stopped me I’m sure they would have thought I was driving a murder ride.
Heavy hitting blood thinners also lead to falls.
The Teeth
Unless you are coding out on an ER table the doctors who put stents in won’t touch you if there is anything wrong with your teeth. Same goes for those who install the defibrillators/pacemakers or replace the batteries. I’m not talking about a simple cavity or crooked teeth. They want a clean bill of health from the dentist stating you don’t have any infections.
Yes, you can have gum infections you don’t feel. Mom had a cracked tooth. Common in elderly diabetics I’m told. The tooth wasn’t causing her any pain and she didn’t know the gum had gotten infected. I believe it was battery replacement time. She opted to get the tooth pulled. That was the shortest course of antibiotics to get her cleared for surgery.
Trump is seeing the dentist a lot. Why doesn’t he use the dentist that is a short walk from the White House? Trump’s health would then be on full display for the American public and news of the bum ticker would be everywhere.
High-Dose Aspirin Regimen
