Sweet Home Alabama is just plain great! I’ve seen it quite a few times and it still doesn’t lose its magic! In fact, magic is the best one word description I could offer for this movie. I highly recommend Millenials watch this movie before KMart is completely gone.

Yes, most of you reading that are scratching your head. One of the really hilarious sub-stories is that Reese plays a rural Alabama girl who ran off to New York to become a designer. After achieving that she has to come back home to rural Alabama for a bit. Every time she tells a girl who knew here in High School she is a designer they ask “You mean like Jaclyn Smith?”

For those of you who still don’t understand, Blue Collar people shop at KMart and don’t give a rats behind about anything in New York City.

It’s a running skit in the film and it is hilarious. I say that speaking as someone who grew up Blue Collar and everyone I knew shopped at KMart. Still not getting it? Well, you just didn’t grow up there and then. It was a nod to the past and it was hilarious. It was also a major slam at New York City, which isn’t really part of America, so all of America loved it.

Put this film on your watch many times list. If you find it in a discount bin take it home and cherish it.
