Even if you aren’t of a certain age to have watched the Bat Man television show when it was new on the air, you probably have some oldies station still running it today. Sadly, Adam West passed away on June 9, 2017 and another piece of my childhood slipped away.
Was that Channel 9 which aired the show in the Chicago market? It seems to be very Channel 9-ish in my mind, the cheesy fight scenes and even cheesier music is what made grown men become comic book reading little boys again. In case you’ve been living under a rock your entire life and have no idea what people are talking about when they say “BIFF! BAM! POW!”
You will be missed Adam West, but, thankfully, as long as someone takes the time to preserve the medium the show is on, Bat Man will live forever, little kids will be entertained forever and eventually, they will get old enough to ask “How come nobody ever takes the Bat Utility Belt when they tie Bat Man up?”
