We interrupt your regularly scheduled story segment to bring you this important content.

I have warned you many times about the perils of trying to serialize a story as you write it. Most of these stories end up as orphans as the characters need/wish to go in a different direction than previously published segments allow. It’s too confusing for the reader if the writer goes back and changes a segment from a month or so before. The writer either has to truly hack the story line in the current segment to make the prior segment all seem to be a lie/dream, or they have to blurt out a section like this with no story content telling the reader something changed.

Did I go back and change it on-line? Nope. I changed it in the Libre Office document because if I do manage to take this story to completion and publish it, I want it right. Personally, I still haven’t decided if I would post the entire story here or just most of it. Until I finish it the question needs neither asking nor answering.

One thing you do need to know before reading more is that the kids really are at her neighbor’s, not her mom’s. At least for now. The character has not yet revealed to me why it said “at my mom’s” originally. Odds are I will end up changing it back when the truth comes out.

I’m not an outliner. I don’t generate formula content. I listen to what the character has to say and write it down. When it feels like we have gotten to the end of a story and I begin the editing process, that’s when I look at everything they said, cutting and pasting things into a logical order.

You need to be aware that I’m writing this story in spurts as time in my life allows. It may forever remain an orphan, but it has almost cross the threshold in content size and quality to where I will be compelled to complete it.

Of course, if you like the things you read here, you could visit interestingauthors.com and look through the various books we authors have for sale. There has to be something which both appeals to you and is in your price range. I mean seriously,
