“I went to school with her. Her parents claimed to be rich. Had a McMansion along the golf course on the north end of town. Parents wanted her to have a grounded upbringing so they sent her to public school or so the story went. While her daddy was a big wig at the factory and claimed he wanted his children to know the children of those who worked for him, I always kind of thought it was because they lived well beyond their means. Not quite as rich as they put on. Her mom was an executive at one of the banks. Not a teller. High up in management. When the factory closed daddy lost his job. Soon after the government came in and declared the bank insolvent. No buyers so they shut it down. Mommy was out of a job as well. Daddy committed suicide with their Mercedes in the garage. Their house was repossessed and they soon ended up in the home which used to sit where the middle of those three trailers sits now.”

“Julie used to date baby daddy number one. He dumped her for me. Oh how she road me in high school after I got knocked up. When he ran like a cat on fire away from me she tried to get him back. Then the bottom fell out of everything. He salvaged his life and is probably one of those very same Wall Street bankers trying to purge us from existence. I don’t ask his parents. They helped me as much as they could without word getting around. Appearances matter to them. Eventually only I and they will remember their son is baby daddy number one who ran while the getting was good.”

“Anyway, Julie was both pretty and really smart. Did great at chemistry and was always talking about which big Ivy League college she was looking at this week. When the family couldn’t pay, she couldn’t get a scholarship or financial aid because that is all based on your historical income, not where you are now. She found herself taking classes at the Junior College and working at Wal-mart. That big dollar sports car of hers was gone as well. She was driving a rusted out shit box worse than mine.”

“Less than three months after daddy was buried mommy drank herself to death” Melony stated. “I will admit there was a time when I hated Julie, but I would never have wished any of this on her. She must have watched too much Breaking Bad. Started cooking crystal meth in her home. One night it all blew up. Took out her house and the houses on either side.”

“The floating concrete pads were damaged by the blast. The community couldn’t find anyone willing to build so gravel was put down and those three trailers showed up one day. People are renting them. Less than one percent of the homes were occupied by renters here when I bought this place. Now less than five percent are occupied by owners. Julie isn’t the only one to try cooking meth here. Cops are here on a regular basis now. So far she’s the only one to blow herself up. Had a few catch fire, but no more explosions. Before the criminal activity of Wall Street which Hillary help protect, we hardly ever saw the cops. Occasionally a couple would go at it rather loudly and the cops would show up, but, that will happen anywhere. A happy marriage isn’t defined by income but it can sure be destroyed by a lack of it.”

“Hillary managed to whisper in the ear of the federal prosecutors so prison was never even mentioned. That doesn’t mean the states couldn’t put them in prison. Depending on the state they might even hand out a death sentence or two” Melony steamed on. “The only reason none of them have is they all want to get elected to federal office so they have to keep their mitts off the big financial backers. Not one of them is in office to protect the common man. They’ve all been bought and paid for.”

She saw my questioning look and paused for me to speak. “If you don’t mind my asking, how are they going to do that?”

“Didn’t you listen to the quote from The Big Short? Forty Thousand deaths caused by a one percent rise in unemployment. The banks had to verify the paper trail in order to repossess all of those homes. What’s that charge where you didn’t directly kill someone but your actions caused them to die?”

“Involuntary manslaughter I believe” I responded.

“Yes, that’s it! They could demand all of the paperwork and prosecute every CEO and member of the board in every Wall Street bank for involuntary manslaughter at the state level, but they won’t. There is also some charge for people forcing others, usually girls and women, into prostitution. Ordinary cops arrest people in this city for that all of the time, but I don’t remember what it is. The banker’s relentless greed forced these people to kill themselves or engage in prostitution, sometimes both. The state level prosecutors could gather up all of the paperwork and put everyone of those bastards in prison. Bernie Madoff got something like 150 years for stealing what we now know was eight million dollars. These criminals should at least get double life, assuming they aren’t prosecuted in a state where involuntary manslaughter is a capital offense. They could, but they won’t. They aren’t there to protect us.”

Melony stopped for a minute. I don’t know if it was so she could catch her breath or to allow me time to digest. I just know it didn’t last that long.

“So” she said “This went from a nice blue collar housing community to a crime ridden trailer park thanks to, if not directly them, the clones of, Mitt Romney, Jamie Dimon and Hillary Clinton. And that, my dildo with a pulse, is how Trump got elected. It had nothing to do with competence or appeal. He just wasn’t part of the organized crime family trying to exterminate all of us.”
