Remember that phone number and add it to whatever call blocker you have.
This telemarketing scam called me multiple times on Labor Day. The first time I was either busy or out of signal range because I had a missed call without a message. The final time was at 7:30 pm and quite honestly, it was the worst mangling of the English language I’ve ever heard. Someone who spoke absolutely no English would have been better than this.
After about 5 minutes I managed to make out enough of what he was saying to learn it was some kind of burial/life insurance scam. There seems to be a growing number of complains on 800notes.com. Since most of you have probably never heard of 800notes.com I thought I would mention them. While someone has to be the first to get a call from a phone scammer, odds are against it being you personally. Whenever I have a missed call without a message, the first place I look is 800notes.com. If they hadn’t called about the time I was expecting a family member to call I wouldn’t have even reflex answered.
Well, at least you tried to be nice by answering the calls. I personally would never answer calls if I don’t familiar with the numbers. I usually report those numbers to the DNC list, and also block them (manually or using call blocking apps/devices). It didn’t work, though, but it helps me quite a lot. Maybe suing them is a more effective way for us to make them stop, like what I have read at http://www.whycall.me/news/consumer-wins-massive-229500-robocall-lawsuit-against-time-warner-cable/.
