Health insurance corruption in Illinois is really gobsmacking. I thought with Madigan going to jail<\/a> we were had reached the end of machine politics and corruption. Nope. Open enrollment has shined a bright light on it. I’m not alone in believing when an insurance company gets a license to issue health insurance policies in a state they have to issue them in every square inch of the state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is corruption that is trying to thwart Obama Care. Lots of people are being screwed by the crooked politicians down state. No county should have the ability to block a state licensed insurer and a mandatory requirement of getting a license must be to issue a policy in every square inch of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consider Kankakee County<\/h2>\n\n\n

Keyed in my doctor, drugs, and pharmacy. 71 policies. Many of which cover all. A few would screw me on Jardiance and another few my doctor doesn’t take.<\/p>\n\n\n

You will note Cigna has three very reasonably priced gold plans.<\/p>\n\n\n

Cigna even has a gold plan that is cheaper than BlueCross Blueshield’s cheapest bronze plan. In fact there are about half a dozen vendors. Yes, this blog has written about health insurance before<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Woe Be to Bastard in Ford County<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Health insurance corruption becomes self evident for the poor bastards who live in one county and get all of their medical services from a different county. In Ford, there is exactly one vendor, BlueCross BlueShield. I just have to say I’m in Kankakee county. I don’t have to move. Everything I use is there. A gold plan is a thousand dollars per month cheaper.<\/p>\n\n\n

Hell, if I lie and say I’m in Kankakee county, a gold Cigna plan is cheaper than any of these, yet has more coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n

I guess BlueCross BlueShield has to recoup that $2.67 billion settlement<\/a> somehow. How a company could pay a settlement that large and still have a license I will never know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More importantly, how come insurance companies aren’t forced via license to issue insurance policies across every square inch of the state?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
