When the cops accuse Kade of falsifying his Golden status, an offense that
\ncarries a death sentence, he is forced to question his true heritage after
\nhis powerful parents won\u2019t save him. Then, on the eve of his
\nexecution, he\u2019s rescued by a guerilla Dreg group\u2014but why? What
\ndo they want from him? As he lives with them in squalor, trained in raiding
\nfor food, fighting, and how to survive, he slowly gains respect for the Dreg
\npeople, seeing them as more than \u201cother\u201d, confusing the age-old
\nlines of good and bad. But despite his infatuation with Saya, a beautiful
