Annie Oakley Frye is a Cyber Warfare Specialist accepted cyberspace had
\nbecome a cesspool of evil based on the multitude of daily cyberattacks.
\nAnnie does not live in a dystopian, fantasy world like Katniss Everdeen,
\nBeatrice Prior, and Lara Croft\u2014she lives among us. Once she discovers this
\ninvisible menace is lurking in a million networks, and it can\u2019t be stopped
\nfrom obliterating world economies, she sheds her mild-mannered personality
\nand becomes the lioness of her youth to survive. Out of kindness, she warns
\nher friends about this approaching cyber nightmare, but they scoff at her
\ninsider information and doomsday scenario, believing the government won’t
\nlet it happen. Once the cyber nightmare launches a surprise arrives at her

While listening to their frivolous bullshit, Viktor\u2019s face showed impatience and annoyance.<\/p>\n

Mariya noticed Viktor\u2019s sourpuss face. \u201cWhy aren\u2019t you sharing your dreams with us? What\u2019s your problem?\u201d She thought the creep was such an asshole. Thankfully, she could receive her millions without needing to see his ugly face again.<\/p>\n

Sergei drank more vodka and puffed on his cigarette. \u201cWhich corporations begged for mercy? Google? Microsoft? Amazon?\u201d<\/p>\n

Stifling a giggle, Viktor cherished this long moment of glory. \u201cI\u2019ve not blackmailed any government or corporation. There are no ransoms in a bitcoin account. I used your greed to enlist your help in the development of a weapon for my glorious jihad.\u201d Now he expected their shock and disbelief\u2014rage and condemnation\u2014their spiteful desire to retaliate against him.<\/p>\n

\u201cHilarious,\u201d Sergei scoffed. \u201cLook, Mariya, he has become a funny comrade.\u201d He turned to Viktor without a smile. \u201cOkay, you have made your joke,\u201d he said, his anger leaping into his words. \u201cNow show us the money. I want to see our millions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Deceiving morons amused Viktor. Controlling Sergei and Mariya, as if hand puppets, was most enjoyable. His words sounded clownish. \u201cThe three of us are penniless!\u201d<\/p>\n

Annoyance and irritation gnarled Mariya\u2019s face. \u201cHow silly. Have you given in to vodka today? You\u2019ve become as playful as Sergei?\u201d<\/p>\n

His harsh laugh resounded off the walls as if standing on the stage in a grand theater. \u201cThe virus you brilliantly modified hasn\u2019t made us any profit. You created a weapon for Allah. A weapon that will crush evil nations. And after the ashes cool, Sharia Law will guide the survivors to live a sanctified life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like Shakespeare and Hemmingway, I am an eclectic writer. My stories
\ndevelop from my imagination and passions, usually just before I fall asleep.
\nBefore I became an Indie author, I had two novels published by a respected
\nindependent publisher, which went out of business. Since books cannot be

\nStardust Dreams will soon be Forrester\u2019s Folly. During my clinical careers
\nas a School Psychologist and Clinical Social Worker in private practice, I
\nhad a book on human nature published by a traditional publisher and when the
\neditor passed away, it vanished. That book will be updated and launched next
\nyear. Happily, I am now an Indie author with the same quality of work but
\nnow under my control. My genres have been horror, suspense\/thriller, senior
\nromance, sci\/fi, and now apocalyptic, which is based on my worries about the
\nprecarious future of cyberspace. Besides writing, I am an avid golfer,
\nbowler, and tennis player. I reside in Florida with my lovely wife and
