I was viciously disappointed with Interstellar<\/em>. I just can’t find the words to correctly describe how disappointed I was, especially after all of the hype and seeing 8.6 out of 10 star ratings posted all around the Web. Well, they must have seen it in one of those giant movie theaters, because Interstellar<\/em> didn’t translate to the small screen via DVD rental.<\/p>\n

I love Matthew McConaughey as an actor. He actually did a really good job here. In truth I cannot fault any member of cast or crew for the job they did.<\/p>\n

I can fault the writers.<\/p>\n

I can fault the studio for funding this debacle.<\/p>\n

I can fault everyone for signing up to work on this picture. Okay, the crew might have needed to pay the rent, but the multi-million dollar actors didn’t need the pay check that<\/i> bad.<\/p>\n

What is wrong with Interstellar<\/em>?<\/h2>\n

What is wrong with this picture is both the story and concept. We have seen the circular time thing done in science fiction hundreds, if not thousands of times before. We have seen the divine intervention paradox done a few hundred times as well. For those of you who do not know what the divine intervention paradox is:<\/p>\n

The starting point of a circular time event occurs outside of any viable preceding timeline such that it would require some form of divine intervention to cause a push\/skip\/nudge\/whatever to a previously unreachable state.<\/cite><\/p>\n

At least that is my definition as an avid science fiction watcher and an author.<\/p>\n

Maybe you will come away with a different feeling than I did, but this entire movie felt like the studio said “Hey, science fiction is hot this year, let’s put one out!” Then they plucked a random writer out of the romance pool, one which had never seen a science fiction picture in their life and told them to write the script.
