Lamb <\/strong>will be posting pieces of<strong> &#8220;Flash Fiction.&#8221; \u00a0<\/strong>These pieces were each written with a prompt and a timer set to five minutes. \u00a0These postings are intended to encourage other fiction writers to comment and post links to their own 5 minute pieces using the same prompt. \u00a0The image I included with week&#8217;s prompt &#8211; <strong>&#8220;Success&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><em>goes with the story &#8211; a story on my own terms.<\/em><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1480\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1480\" style=\"width: 224px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1480\" src=\"http:\/\/www.interestingauthors.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Success-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/interestingauthors.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Success-224x300.jpg 224w, https:\/\/interestingauthors.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Success.jpg 717w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1480\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">My version of a &#8220;Success Story&#8221;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Ready &#8211; Set &#8211; Go&#8230;tick&#8230;tick&#8230;tick:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOK, OK, my turn.\u00a0 Here\u2019s my question for you,\u201d said Roger.\u00a0 \u201cHow would you define success?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Billy Banyon\u2019s definition for success was simple.\u00a0 \u201cLiving life on my own terms,\u201d he said to Roger, his best and oldest friend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve heard that before but I\u2019m not sure I know what that means,\u201d said Roger.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not sure either.\u00a0 I got it from a movie.\u00a0\u00a0<em>Titanic<\/em>\u00a0I think.\u00a0 Anyway, what did you mean by asking such a weird question?\u201d Billy shot back.<\/p>\n<p>The conversation wasn\u2019t exactly typical for a couple of twelve year old boys spending the night in the tree fort Billy\u2019s dad helped the boys build in the Banyon\u2019s back yard.<\/p>\n<p><em>Eavesdropping on a youthful conversation can be insightful!<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the next eight Tuesdays, Gregory S.
