Changing it so it more closely matched my novel sites. This of course leads one to check all of the sales links, etc. Eventually I did a few searches on scribd.com. The first was for the title of the series<\/p>\n<pre>the minimum you need to know<\/pre>\n<p align=\"justify\">It yielded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/search?page=1&amp;content_type=documents&amp;query=the%20minimum%20you%20need%20to%20know\">this page<\/a>. I was pretty amazed to see 11,900 free-hoarders had &#8220;viewed&#8221; the document but not one bothered to click a thumb in either direction. I can also tell you it has not sold 11,000 copies unless one of the ebook vendors just skipping the &#8220;pay the author&#8221; part.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">When one clicks on that book they can then click on my name and see a scrolling list of things I&#8217;ve put on scribd.com. In particular I was stunned that &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/156169081\/John-Smith-Last-Known-Survivor-of-the-Microsoft-Wars\">John Smith &#8211; Last Known Survivor of the Microsoft Wars<\/a>&#8221; had 32K &#8220;views&#8221; and not one person bothered to click a thumb in either direction. Physical book sales are &#8220;a smidgen below&#8221; that 32K unit mark as well.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Seriously, society is doomed. People want everything on the Internet for free, without advertising <em>and<\/em> they are too lazy to provide any feedback.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the past couple of days I have been refreshing The Minimum You Need to Know Web site.
