The Mahogany Monster needs to go! No I’m not interested in delivering. I have less than zero interest in shipping. I’m looking to downsize to a “standard” 60-something inch pedestal desk (hopefully with keyboard tray) and I need to get rid of my faithful Mahogany Monster.

No idea what brand it is. I know the hanging file drawer will hold legal sized hanging folders because that is what I had in there.

It’s a biggun.

Keep in mind that is from the inside of the hutch wall.

It doesn’t skimp on the width either.

I even have the $500 (at the time) infinitely adjustable keyboard arm with the mouse bar.

If you want we can square up that hole you see on the bottom of the spacer panel. This desk was designed before there were cable management thoughts. One of the offices I worked in had all of the power/network/etc. cabling coming out of the wall on the left side. Didn’t have battery jig saws back then. I didn’t even have a drill with me, just a hand held coping saw. I was young and just wanted to get the computer working so I could get billable. If you want, when you come we can square that up a bit using my 18 volt Dewalt Jig saw.

It’s not shiny and new. It’s also not a beat up piece of shit. Yes there are some nicks and scratches. I’m not willing to try my hand at filling them. I am enough of a human being to have already picked up the stuff to fix them with.

Once again, I’m getting rid of this because I want to go down to a straight desk. This has that bit round “manager’s meeting” hook at the end.

For years, when we had big heavy tube type monitors, this wasn’t an issue. I could sit there at that corner with one monitor and computer just fine. In today’s world I find myself having to run a three monitor rig a lot (laptop and 2 big wide screens) and that round bulb at the end is just too damned inconvenient. If you are a manager type or only have a laptop then this desk will build your ego just fine, it certainly helped build mine.

If memory serves this thing was $2K new (and I bought it new) plus the $500 keyboard arm. Show up with $400 cash and a van and I’ll help you load it. (Leave a comment first to make sure it is still here!) Looking to see it go bye bye in about a week. Once it is gone I can buy the straight desk I’ve been shopping for on-line.
