People always ask me why I stay in IL. A state where, for much of the past two decades, the governors we didn’t send to prison are even bigger puddles of shit than the ones which got put behind bars. We simply haven’t had a decent governor, nor one I would even remotely call human since Jim Edgar. Regrettably he had to bow out due to a bum ticker. No matter how immortal you believe yourself to be, once you clutch your chest and wake up in intensive care it changes your perspective on what’s important.

All I want for Christmas is our current governor to be out of office and in prison. I ask Santa for this as a Republican and I will continue to ask Santa each and every day.

Why I stay doesn’t have as much to do with a heritage and chunk of land passed down since the Transcontinental Railroad was being built. I put up with the worthless politicians and the soulless creatures pumping out propaganda in the Republican Tabloid, also known as the Kankakee Daily Journal, because every once in a while, you get a morning worth having. You turn on the radio or television news and learn yet another worthless politician is behind bars or, you wake up on Christmas morning to see this.

Thanks for the snow Santa! We’ve had far too many Christmases without it.

Now about that governor…
