Fast and Furious 6 adding Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) really helped bring new life into this franchise. Bringing back Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) also helped save the franchise. She is a big draw for both the male and female audience. She’s got that beautiful Tomboy-girl-next-door thing going on.
Let’s be honest. Nobody watches a Fast & Furious installment looking for great acting. Occasionally we get a brief glimpse of some good acting, but, it’s really all about the chase scenes, special effects and pro wrestling style fights. Any plot, no matter how outlandish, is okay. The franchise really doesn’t work without Vin Diesel, which is why nobody talks about “2 Fast 2 Furious” because that installment shouldn’t have happened.
I must be honest. Fast and Furious 6 stayed mostly loyal to the formula behind the franchise. Lot’s of talk about family sprinkled with some welcome stunt twists. It’s an enjoyable time complete with zingers to make you laugh.
To those token few movie goers looking for a warm fuzzy love story set in New York, this ain’t your flick. To the crowd who likes fast cars and beautiful women with attitudes, welcome home.
The brotherhood of muscle is still burning dead Dino and NOS like there is no tomorrow! You know, this franchise just wouldn’t work with electric cars. I don’t care how fast they go, without the angry roar of a beast under the hood, this franchise would really lose its appeal.
