For the past couple of days I have been refreshing The Minimum You Need to Know Web site. Changing it so it more closely matched my novel sites. This of course leads one to check all of the sales links, etc. Eventually I did a few searches on scribd.com. The first was for the title of the series

the minimum you need to know

It yielded this page. I was pretty amazed to see 11,900 free-hoarders had “viewed” the document but not one bothered to click a thumb in either direction. I can also tell you it has not sold 11,000 copies unless one of the ebook vendors just skipping the “pay the author” part.

When one clicks on that book they can then click on my name and see a scrolling list of things I’ve put on scribd.com. In particular I was stunned that “John Smith – Last Known Survivor of the Microsoft Wars” had 32K “views” and not one person bothered to click a thumb in either direction. Physical book sales are “a smidgen below” that 32K unit mark as well.

Seriously, society is doomed. People want everything on the Internet for free, without advertising and they are too lazy to provide any feedback.
